Jingnan Guo earned her PhD in astrophysics from Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. During her PhD, she focused on the particle energization processes in solar flares, studying at the Max-Planck Institute for Solar System Research for 2 years and at the University of Glasgow for 1 year. From June 2011 to May 2012, she was a postdoc at the University of Genova in Italy. Thereafter, she moved to the University of Kiel in Germany, where she led the MSL/RAD data calibration and scientific analysis (RAD is a detector on the NASA Curiosity rover to study space radiation on Mars). In 2019 Dr. Guo became a research professor at the University of Science and Technology of China’s School of Earth and Space Sciences. Her research goal is to gain a thorough understanding of the space weather environment, in particular, the origin, effect, and variability of space radiation, as it is essential for planning space missions, such as crewed missions to the Moon or Mars.

Moji Moatamedi received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, U.K., in 1994 and 1997, respectively, the MBA degree in management from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 2012, and the LL.M degree in law from International Business Law, University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K., in 2015.,He has an extensive experience in modeling and simulation particularly in multiphysics approach to industrial investigation. He has held senior managerial and research positions with many institutes including Cranfield University, Imperial College London, and the University of Manchester. He is currently the Chair of multiphysics with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Narvik, Norway, and is also the Director with the Multiphysics Centre.,Dr. Moatamedi is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Nuclear Institute, and a member of the ASME. He is the Vice Chairman of the Association of Aerospace Universities and a member of the Council and the Board of Directors of NAFEMS. He is the Founding President of the International Society of Multiphysics.

Olga E. Malandraki obtained her BSc degree in Physics from the University of Athens (1993) and her PhD in Space Physics from the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece (2002, Division of Space Physics and Telecommunications). From 2002 until 2005 she was a Postdoctoral Research fellow in the Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) and the Democritus University of Thrace. She was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow of the Greek National Foundation (IKY) for the period 2003-2004. From 2005 until 2007 she was an Internal Research Fellow in the Research and Scientific Support Dept. of the European Space Agency (ESA) at ESTEC in the Netherlands. In 2005 she was a Research Associate of the Univ. of Athens and from 2007 until 2008 she was a Research Associate of the Space and Armos. Physics Group at Imperial College, London in the UK. Since 2007 she is a permanent scientific staff member of the IAASARS of the National Observatory of Athens. She has performed extensive research collaborations abroad and has been an Invited Visiting Researcher in the Naval Research Laboratory, Space Sci. Division, USA, the Goddard Space Flight Center at NASA, the Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet zu Kiel, in Germany, the Observatoire de Paris, Meudon, in France, the Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, in the USA. She has received the ‘GROUP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO ULYSSES MISSION TEAM’ by NASA and the ‘ULYSSES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – 15 YEARS IN ORBIT’ by ESA, Science. She has been an ‘Expert’, Member of Representative team of Greece to ESA/SPC since 2010, an Organizing Committee Member, of the International Astronomical Union, Division E, Commission 49 since 2012, Scientific Officer on ‘Heliosphere’ of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) since 2011, National Co-ordinator, International Space Weather Initiative of the United Nations since 2010 and Spokesperson, of the ESA Space Weather Working Team (SWWT/TWG 2) since 2012. She has been Scientific Responsible for NOA for the ‘SEPServer’ and ‘COMESEP’ FP7 projects since 2010. RESEARCH INTERESTS Analysis and interpretation of energetic particle data collected by ESA and NASA spacecraft (STEREO, Ulysses, ACE, Cluster, THEMIS, CASSINI), Investigation of the magnetic topology of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs), particle propagation channels inside Corotating Interaction Regions (CIRs), the physical mechanisms of the establishment and maintenance of particle reservoirs in the Heliosphere, the solar origin of near-relativistic impulsive solar electron events and the comparison of solar particle events at high and low heliolatitudes Research on the energetic particle composition signatures in regions of CME/CIR interactions in the Heliosphere, Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) spectral and elemental abundance composition comparisons during reservoir periods, the study of upstream particle events in the vicinity of Saturn, the effect of solar storms to the environment of Mars and to astronauts of future manned space missions, study of magnetospheric substorms in geospace, CIRs with simultaneous multi-point energetic particle measurements in space, as well as Galactic Cosmic Rays and the relevant Forbush Decreases.

I, Mattias Eriksson is working as Senior Lecturer in mathematics and physics at Blekinge Institute of Technology. I graduated as PhD in atomic physics in Lund University in 2006. After working in first Baltimore and then Jönköping I became a Senior Lecturer in Blekinge Institute of Technology 2010, where I am is still working. My main fields have been atomic physics, astrophysics, and mathematics. A topic which interested me through the years have been fluorescence in plasma. During the years I have reported fluorescence from various sources, such as symbiotic stars and active galactic nebulae. One of my projects right now is how fluorescence lines can help us better understand the H Ly alpha line in K- stars.

Hans Deyssenroth was born in 1937 and studied electrical engineering at the TH Karlsruhe in Germany and physics with a Diploma degree at the University of Basel in Switzerland. He worked as an IT-manager und biometrician in the Pharma industry in Switzerland and was the co-author of about 20 publications. After retirement he studied again the basics of physics and got more and more doubts that the existing models are correct, though they have been verified by many and varied experiments.

Jack Martin has been a keen amateur astronomer for over 50 years, and active in Spectroscopy since 1997. He studied Astronomy and Planetary Science at The Open University (2010). He co-authored ‘Practical Amateur Spectroscopy’ (2004), and is author of ‘A Spectroscopic Atlas of Bright Stars 2009’ for Springer. Also, he has written articles for the BAA Journal, Astronomy Now, The Webb Deep-Sky Society, and The Society for Popular Astronomy. Jack has run the Huggins Spectroscopic Observatory UK since 2013. He also undertakes long-term international collaboration studies with a group of Small Telescope Scientists, monitoring h alpha and other lines of Be- Flare-Nova-Symbiotic etc. stars using a Shelyak Lhires III spectrograph.

Dr Alvarez obtained MsC and PhD degrees from University of California at Berkeley in 1970 and 1972, respectively. He has spent 48 years at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) as a Professor and Researcher at the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IIMAS) and the Institute of Geophysics. In the 1989-1977 period he was director of the Institute of Geography. Between 1975-1977 he was Principal Investigator in NASA’s Lunar Sample Program. He has done research in electrical properties of rocks, Tectonics, and volcanic structures.

Yuriy A Baurov received his PhD in 1978. He worked at Cent. Res. Inst. for Mach. Eng., Korolev town, Russia from 1972 till 2012. He has published six books on Fundamental Physics. In 2004, he was elected as a Fellow of Academy Cosmonautic Russia and also listed as one of the Most Outstanding Scientists of the Planet in 2000.

Yevhen Lunin, pensioner. Born in Kherson, Ukraine on September 18, 1951. I am a citizen of Ukraine. There is a war going on in Ukraine. I have been in Scotland as a refugee since July 2023 and do not work yet. I graduated from the physics department of the university in Rostov-on-Don in 1975 with a degree in physics. I worked as an engineer in a semiconductor device factory for 20 years. After closure of the plant and until 2022, I was engaged in measurement of radiation levels in different regions of Ukraine. Research interest covers the study of black holes, inertia of matter and processes, gravifrequency waves and electrodynamics.

I was born in Coronado, California in 1944. I am the first woman to receive a degree in physics from the University of California, Davis. I received a master’s degree in nuclear physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I worked in various scientific fields and taught high school physics and university astronomy. At age 42 I returned to graduate school at Georgia State University to obtain my PhD in astrophysics. At Los Alamos National Laboratory I worked with x-ray satellites. At NASA/Marshall Space Center I worked with the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. At NASA Headquarters I managed several operating NASA astrophysics satellites and mission programs. At NSF I was the Program Officer for Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology and Executive Secretary for Gemini and ALMA. At USNO I was Chief of the Nautical Almanac Office. I produced the Astronomical Almanac and Nautical Almanac. Now retired I specialize in the history of women in science.
